April 2025 @ Castlebay Marina

April is generally quiet month for the first month of the season.

We were delighted to see our first visitor sail into the bay on the 4th of April. John had come from Mallaig aboard the Unicorn and he was berthing her here for 3 weeks while he was on the mainland. This year we had a trophy for the first yacht to visit and he was delighted with his hand made mug from Castlebay Pottery @ Castlebay Hotel.

After John we have had a few yachts visit in April. We have also had the MV Spitsbergen visit with guests from all over the world. Many came ashore and explored Castlebay, unfortunately the weather was not kind but there was warm places to take refuge and soak up the local atmosphere.

We are looking forward to May and some warmer and more settled weather to entice visitors to venture out from the sheltered shores of the Inner Hebrides and come and visit Castlebay.

It is ideally situated if you need to take a break in your adventure. Great place to set off again from and explore further afield.
